Smells Like Teen Spirit
For this shoot I decided to photograph dandelions because I think they represent adolescence and the hopeful nature of childhood. The photo has a bright, vibrant mood which I think fits "teen spirit" pretty well. Teens are often told that they need to become more mature, but the dandelion represents the childish hope that remains with people throughout their teenage years.

Family Heirloom
My family heirloom was my grandmother's rosary beads. She passed them down to me when I was confirmed. This rosary has been passed down through 3 generations and will hopefully continue to be passe down in the future. These beads symbolize the faith and connection my grandmother and I share. Having them with me helps keep a piece of my grandmother close to my heart.

Album Concentration
This concentration is based off The Essential Billy Joel Album. Since I was a kid I've loved Billy Joel's music and wanted to use this album to convey how I view all of the songs. Each photo represents a different song on his album. I've always thought of Billy Joel as a storyteller and I attempted to continue the stories that he created in my pictures.

50 Self Portraits
I can honestly say that this was the most frustrating photo shoot I have ever done. The timing of this assignment was the worst it could have been. I was struggling with balancing all of my other classes and keeping up with my assignments which left me almost no time for this project. During this time I stayed up until around 2am at least 3 days a week. Trying to find time for these photos was extremely difficult and I didn't have the time I would have liked to plan and edit all of my photos. If I could redo this project I would definitely devote more time to it if possible. I don't plan on doing more self portraits for a while.
